Job Description
We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist to work within school districts across Illinois. This role is a fantastic opportunity to impact students’ lives by addressing communication challenges and promoting language development in both English and Spanish. As a Bilingual SLP, you will be essential in enhancing the academic success and social-emotional well-being of bilingual and multilingual students.
Key Tasks:
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities in both English and Spanish.
- Craft individualized treatment plans to address various speech and language disorders, including issues with articulation, fluency, voice, and comprehension.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups, focusing on specific communication goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language objectives into the students’ academic curriculum and daily routines.
- Maintain precise records of assessment outcomes, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, collaborating with the IEP team to establish suitable goals and interventions for students.
Requirements
- Speech-Language Pathology Master’s degree from an accredited program.
- Legal Illinois state license or eligibility for license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Previous experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations, preferably in a school setting.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages.
