Job Description
The Special Education Teacher will work as a member of the team to carry on the tradition of excellence in special education. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for IEP development and case management, data collection, differentiation, and intervention for academic and/or social-emotional needs, technology integration and ability to work with different professions, therapist, and age-groups. We are seeking a caring individual with a desire to help students achieve their goals to join our team.
The Special Education would be responsible for working with children who have a broad range of disabilities, including cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities, at a elementary school. Teaches disabled youth life skills and basic literacy and modifies the general education curriculum to meet the child’s needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
- Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
- Bachelor’s in Special Education; Master’s degree a plus
- Have or be eligible to apply for an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
- Must be able to work up to 37.5 hours per week.
