Job Description
Early Childhood Speech Language Pathologist
Start Date: 2024 – 2025 School Year
Work Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Caseload: up to 28 students; some speech only
We are currently hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to service a school based caseload.
The SLP will be required to formulate Individual Education Plans for each student on their caseload and maintain report cards for a pre-school early childhood caseload. The SLP will also be required to attend IEP meetings to collaborate with parents and other members of staff.
Performance Responsibility:
- Conducts speech-language screenings for students with suspected disabilities.
- Analyzes and interprets information to make recommendations regarding speech-language services.
- Plans and implements evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students.
- Provides consultative services to teachers- parents- administrators- and allied agencies to integrate speech-language goals into the classroom- other educational programs- and the home environment.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- CFY’s are encouraged to apply and will be considered (supervisor provided)
- Must have the ability to apply for a SLP license in the state of Illinois and be ASHA certified
- SLP’s are required to acquire the Illinois PEL with the Speech Therapy endorsement
